I was honored to be invited to photograph my dear friends gelding and capture a few of their last moments together before she and her mother helped him cross the rainbow bridge.  A difficult day for both, but ultimately their beautiful gelding, Gunner, is now in a better, pain-free place.  Here is just a sampling of photos from 1.25.17, a beautifully windy and brisk winter day.

Gunner was a sweet boy with quite the personality! He did remind me of my old man, very much so.

I hope that my friend and her mother will enjoy these images for many years to come.  Saying goodbye to your heart, your companion and partner is one of the hardest things about horse ownership, or even pet ownership.  Gunner will forever be missed, but I know that the time spent with him will forever be treasured.
